As an ever growing industry, more and more people are asking ‘why to choose a career in beauty and aesthetics?’ Throughout this blog, I will hopefully answer this question from all perspectives that why kent beauty school is the best choice when it comes to following your career path in beauty and aesthetics.

  • WHO can flourish in the would of beauty and aesthetics?
  • WHAT treatments can I offer and what do I need to set up?
  • WHEN can I start offering these treatments?
  • WHERE can I work?
  • WHY would I choose this to enter this industry when it’s already so saturated?

WHO can Flourish in the Industry?

The simple answers is anyone and everyone. I first entered the world of beauty when I was just 16 at a mainstream college in east London. I was in a class of 24 girls and we attended the college 5 days a week over the course of 2 years covering level 2 & 3 beauty therapy. These courses still happen however the learning journey has changed drastically.

You are now able to complete anything from a 1 day lash course to a 9 month full internationally recognized VRQ in private colleges all over the country. These tend to be smaller classes and will usually have 2 groups depending on age. So whatever age you are, you can feel comfortable completing your course with people of a similar age at Kent beauty school.

Full time courses are very convenient for people who have a lot of time on their hands however what of you currently work somewhere and you are looking for a career change? Shorter one-day courses are readily available for anyone who wants to transition into their new career path slowly. We have many students at eclipse school of beauty that started off doing a one day lash course and slowly increased their treatments and decreased the hours at their current job.

If you have other commitments including hobbies and children, beauty and aesthetics can be a fantastic way of working around these. You can choose courses on weekends or days you have free and build your career around your commitments without having to give them up. So you see whoever you are and whatever you currently do beauty and aesthetics can be versatile enough to fit into anyone’s life.

WHEN Can I Start Offering Treatment?

As soon as you are qualified and fully insured then you are legally allowed to offer treatments. Many training schools will provide you with a certificate following your training so that you are able to gain insurance straight away. As long as you are confident if the treatment you are offering and you have the correct equipment then you are ready to go. Many new therapists offer introductory price options to get clients initially and build their clientele from there.

WHERE Can I offer These Treatments?

There has been much speculation recently around where people can perform these treatments as the industry has evolved from salons being the only place to cater to clients. While salons and clinics are still a popular choice to work, many therapists now choose to set up either within their own home or rent a space in another person’s shop of the same or similar profession.

This is a great option to work for yourself, the hours you wish and to be able to fit your work around your current commitments as mentioned previously. As long as you gain a license for any licensed treatments, there are no rules regarding where you are able to perform beauty and aesthetics treatments.

WHY Would I Choose a Career in Beauty and Aesthetics?

Many people will look at this industry and assume it is already saturated and this will put them off. Having been in this industry for now 17 years, I have seen a constant need for more and more therapists. As the need for treatments increase, so do the need for therapists and in turn, so does the need for more courses.

Most beauty and aesthetic treatments need to be repeated continually so once you have a client for one treatment, you can set them up for continuous appointments. There are new and exciting revolutionary treatments coming into the industry all the time which many therapists choose to do or not to do. Each therapist will develop their own list of treatments catered to their individual client needs.
