Rhinoplasty – Surgical And A Non-Surgical Nose

Wanting a nose job but don’t have thousands of pounds to spare and don’t like the idea of undergoing a surgical procedure? we have your answer here.

The variation between a surgical nose job (surgical rhinoplasty) and a non-surgical nose job (liquid rhinoplasty) Is groundbreaking. Here we are going to discuss the differences between these two options. That can quite literally cost you the difference between thousands of pounds in the bank, little to no downtime or recovery time, and one hell of a lot less discomfort.

It could be a friend, a relative, a partner, or even a member of the public eye- regardless of who-we all know someone who has forked out the cash on a nose job whether it be to make their nose smaller, to make their nose larger, to change the shape of their nose or to change the angle between the nose and top lip. The chances are, there has been a lot of money spent and a lot of time hiding behind closed doors whilst the bruising and swelling reduce after they have experienced the surgical nose job procedure. We’re going to break down the process and information relevant to this cosmetic procedure in order to highlight the intensity and the somewhat groveling experience involved and compare this to the simplicity, the financial saving, and the minimal downtime or pain involved with the non-surgical liquid rhinoplasty.

what surgical rhinoplasty involves.

First of all; it’s important to note that generally speaking, nose reshaping when done surgically is carried out under a general aesthetic. From this alone, we know that admission to a hospital or private clinic for several pre-operation assessments is necessary, and after any general aesthetic: medical supervision is paramount during the recovery. You can expect to be in surgery from 1.5-3 hours, and then even still, once the worst part is over it can be months before you actually see the true healed results of the procedure. Let’s face it; it’s 2022 – nobody’s got time for that!!

Did we mention it will also cost you anything from £5-8000!!

Depending on the type of surgery that is desired, i.e.- reduction, augmentation, nostril reshaping, etc. the surgeon may carry out a variety of different techniques to achieve this. Some of these techniques include:

  • removing the cartilage and bone from the nose
  • taking cartilage from the ears
  • taking bone from the hips, elbow, or skull
  • rebuilding the nose using various other forms of bone or cartilage from the body (medically known as grafting)
  • nostril reduction/ reshaping by breaking the nose bone and rearranging the cartilage

…these are but a few to name the gruesome steps involved with reshaping and resizing the nose.

Grimacing already?! Us too. Here’s our solution to a beautiful, resized, and reshaped nose but without all of the scalpels, chisels, hospital appointments, and life savings!

Our solution is liquid rhinoplasty. This is a non-surgical procedure that is performed using a small gauge needle that injects a varied amount of hyaluronic acid into the area of the nose in which you are wanting to reshape- it’s as simple as that!

Areas that can be treated include the dorsal hump and the nasal tip.

The product that is used (hyaluronic acid) is the same product that is commonly used for Dermal fillers in other areas of the face such as the cheek, the chin, the jaw, and the lips.

Various different brands and types of hyaluronic acid can be used for this treatment-  a few of the industry favorites include Juvéderm and Eloquence. Over time and throughout medical and cosmetic studies, hyaluronic acid has gained a phenomenal reputation for being an effective and safe alternative to surgery.

A huge plus side to undergoing the liquid rhinoplasty treatment is that a general anesthetic is not necessary. When having this procedure done, the patient is awake and conscious throughout. Although it sounds scary, the product used usually contains lidocaine anyway. So the procedure is never too uncomfortable and usually starts to numb. Liquid rhinoplasty usually takes around 15 minutes (which of course is no comparison to the three-hour surgery if you were to undergo full surgical rhinoplasty).

Because you are awake during this treatment, you will often be handed a mirror by your practitioner which means that you can even watch the treatment being done – giving you the reassurance that you have more control and awareness of what’s being done!

There is no downtime or recovery time for this procedure, which means that as soon as your appointment is finished you are free to go and carry on with the rest of your day. The best part about it-the results of the procedure is immediate.

Another pro for liquid rhinoplasty is that the treatment is temporary. Therefore, if you are unhappy with the results, they are completely reversible. The treatment and product can either be immediately dissolved using Hyaluronidase, or you can wait several months as the product will naturally wear off. This treatment usually costs between £150-500 (depending on the practitioner’s costs and pricing)Which also means it’s completely affordable should you want to repeat the treatment every 8 to 12 months.

If you ask us it’s a no-brainer. Liquid rhinoplasty is affordable, it’s reversible, it’s effective and from the second the treatment is finished you can enjoy the results of your newly shaped nose.

Biotin – Beauty Boosting Vitamin

Are you that person who wakes up every morning looking and feeling like you’ve had no sleep? Hair looking lifeless?  Are nails chipped and flakey?  Skin looking dehydrated?

If your answer is yes to any of these questions:  then look no further than the Biotin multi vitamin; otherwise known as the Beauty boosting Vitamin.

Biotin is one of many multivitamins that can be administered through either intramuscular injection or administered through an IVNT drip. It is rapidly growing in popularity within the beauty and cosmetic industry for its undeniable results when it comes to various different health and beauty benefits.

Not only is the biotin vitamin responsible for general health and strength throughout various appearances externally, but the Biotin vitamin is also a huge helping hand for many other days to day functions within the gut, nervous system, digestive system and Biotin has even been known to improve and regulate menstrual cycles in women.

So first, let’s talk about a few of the internal improvements and the benefits that Biotin can have from within:

Believe it or not, one single vitamin- Biotin- can hugely help to boost the metabolism and trigger the reaction that the body needs in order to convert food into energy.

Biotin aids the breaking down and the processing of fats and carbohydrates that are ingested by food– and with this- re-releases these into energy as opposed to additional body fat and weight gain… so yes, we guess you could say- that Biotin can effectively give you that helping hand with weight loss if this is something you find you struggle with alone.

Biotin has also been renowned for supporting liver function as well as the nervous system, both of which have a huge impact on your day-to-day physical activities but also your energy levels and spiritual outlook.

Biotin, vitamin B7B8, or vitamin H as it is also known as a nutrient that is naturally absorbed from your diet and the nutrients found in various different food and organic items.

A short list of the foods in which biotin can be found is as follows:

  • Avocados
  • Yeast
  • Broccoli
  • Bananas
  • Mushrooms
  • sweet potatoes
  • liver
  • nuts and seeds- particularly peanuts
  • legumes: peas, beans, lentils, soybeans
  • egg yolks

If you are someone who lacks any of these items in your diet- you will find that you are most definitely deficient in biotin levels within your body naturally.

Now that we’ve briefly given an overview of the improvements and benefits of Biotin for our general health and organ function… let’s get to the benefits that we’re all actually here for!

Biotin is renowned for being the ultimate vitamin supplement when it comes to improving the quality and appearance of all things that we often feel lifeless about our day-to-day look- our hair, our nails, and our skin.

Because Biotin is not naturally stored in the body, the only way in order to really gain the benefits from this particular vitamin is to supplement it -it must be ingested or consumed. When a sufficient amount of this vitamin is recognized within the body, one of the huge benefits is the increase in stimulation for keratin production within the hair which increases the rate of follicle growth. Thus, in turn, your hair starts to grow thicker, healthier, stronger, and in general looks like it has more life!

As for your nails, unfortunately, we can’t help speed up the actual nail growth. However, biotin studies have shown that this vitamin can help to strengthen brittle nails which reduces your chances of them breaking or splitting, and as a result of this, naturally, they will be able to grow longer.

Last but not least; is the maintenance of healthy skin. in relation to what we were saying about the benefits of biotin helping to break down fats and carbohydrates, alongside this, biotin also helps to support the production of fatty acids. Fatty acids when balanced correctly in the body can help to nourish the skin and will vastly improve the function of the oil glands. If you are someone who suffers from unpredictable skin, then look towards the Biotin vitamin- this may just be your answer to regulating and maintaining a more balanced and predictable cycle when it comes to your skin!

How to go about adding Biotin into your routine? There are several answers.

Of course, the easiest answer is to pop down to your local whole food store, Holland &Barratt, or health food store. Any of these types of places will be able to provide you with daily supplement tablets usually priced anything between £7- £25. The dosage of Biotin concentrate varies and you will need to remember to take the recommended dose daily.

The downside to taking vitamin supplements is that your body only absorbs up to a maximum of approximately 40% of the concentrated vitamin when ingested in tablet form.

However, we recommend receiving the Biotin vitamin via either intramuscular injection or IVNT drip. Although this way of taking the vitamin can cost slightly more, the upside is first that you do not have the responsibility of remembering to take a tablet every day as it is administered as a booster once a month, but secondly, the intramuscular injection or intravenous drip allows the body to absorb up to 90% of the concentrated vitamin-this giving you far more benefits and efficiency in the absorption of all that this miraculous beauty-boosting vitamin has to offer!

Video of a vascular occlusion from dermal fillers

Vascular occlusion video from dermal fillers being injected into an artery.

The most dangerous element of a dermal filler injection is the possibility of injecting into an artery. The tip of the needle is the single most important component to be aware of in terms of position when doing filler injections via either a cannula or a needle. The type of filler you use is not relevant. However, this is based on hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers. BDDE cross linked dermal fillers. They can be from any brand whether it is Juvederm ultra or Vycross. Teosyal or Teoxane. Belotero or Revolax. The brand does not matter. This can happen with any HA based filler. It can lead to necrosis of the tissue and this can leave scarring or even blindness.

Cannula is considered to be safer than needle. However, if a cannula cannulates an artery it can often be more devastating than a needle injury. There are many ways in which you can try to avoid a vascular occlusion. But the single most important thing is to have a comprehensive understanding of an injectors anatomy. We cover this in great detail on our Dermal Fillers Foundation Training course.

Our training course is suitable for medics and non medics alike. Even if you are a fully qualified doctor or nurse you will find our 4 day training course is extremely comprehensive. Our injectors anatomy modules are the finest around.

There are multiple signs a vascular occlusion may have occurred.

  • Livedo Reticularis
  • Slow capillary refill

There are more but these two are the most significant.

Livedo Reticularis can present itself in the form of mottling. And slow capillary refill can be seen by pressing an area of skin and seeing how long the blood takes to return. If the capillary refill is slow. More than 4-5 seconds. It maybe necessary to seek specialist attention.

If it is determined that VO is definately present. An emergency protocol should be applied. This can include several items

  • Massage
  • Heat pack
  • Viagra
  • Aspirin
  • Hyalase – Hyaluronidase (Or equivalent – Disolvidase for example)

In a specific order these can be utilised in order to resolve a vascular occlusion. Dissolving should be the last possible option but it should always be available. In many cases a single vial of hyalase is not enough. One vial is 1500iu. Often many are needed. So we recommend always stocking at least 10. Preferably 20 and all of the appropriate needles and syringes and anything else that maybe required.

You should have a well documented protocol that allows you to fully understand what your steps should be in any given emergency situation. See our diagram below for a comprehensive emergency protocol.

Hyalase Emergency protocol for dermal fillers

If you have an ultrasound machine this can also be used in order to do vascular mapping of the face in order to be able to build up an accurate understanding of exactly what is going on under the skin and exactly where the vascular occlusion is. Once found it can be easily injected with hyalase and dissolved. We offer specialist ultrasound training with a very high level HD 20Mhz ultrasound scanning device. You can find our training for this here

This ultrasound training for injectors is a very specialist training course and should be for highly experienced aesthetic practitioners. The ability to check depths of arteries and veins and muscles and even facias via ultrasound can be truly revolutionary in regards safe injecting and superior vascular occlusion emergency response.

Even with non BDDE cross-linked products such as profhilo. Sunekos. Jalupro. VO is still possible. If the pressure is significant enough and in the wrong area. And too much product injected. It’s often considered safe. But in the wrong hands it is not safe. Again for these HA based products. Hyalase and your emergency protocol would be important to have to hand.

Botox and other botulinum toxin products such as boccouture and azzalure do not cause vascular occlusion and dissolving of these products is both unnecessary and also impossible. Even with this knowledge it’s very important to have the correct Anti wrinkle injections and botulinum toxin training to make sure the procedure is done correctly and most importantly safely. You can see our training here.

Can PDO threads cause a VO? Or vascular occlusion? PDO threads can also not be dissolved. However if inserted incorrectly could cause damage to blood vessels and again its extremely important that they are administered correctly and safely. Our comprehensive training course covers this In great detail. It can be found here.

Even if a VO is resolved correctly. It’s very important to monitor your client over the coming two weeks and get daily updates via video and photo and phone call. We will always help you through any emergency situation and have significant support in place in case of emergency. 24 hour hotline and multiple support groups across social media.

If you require any assistance we also offer free of charge emergency support to anyone. Even if they did not train with us. Please contact us if you need emergency assistance. We provide this completely free of charge and believe no one should be left to deal with this alone. Whether you be a client or a student practitioner.

Is B12 right for you?

Vitamin B12 is an essential vitamin that your body needs but cannot produce.

Vitamin B12 has many roles in your body. It supports the normal function of your nerve cells and is needed for red blood cell formation and DNA synthesis.

For most adults, the recommended daily intake (RDI) is 2.4 mcg, though it’s higher for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding (1).Vitamin B12 may benefit your body in impressive ways, such as by boosting your energy, improving your memory and helping prevent heart disease.

Here are some health benefits of vitamin B12, all based on science

Vitamin B12 plays a vital role in helping your body produce red blood cells.

Low vitamin B12 levels cause a reduction in red blood cell formation and prevent them from developing properly. Healthy red blood cells are small and round, whereas they become larger and typically oval in cases of vitamin B12 deficiency.

Due to this larger and irregular shape, the red blood cells are unable to move from the bone marrow into the bloodstream at an appropriate rate, causing megaloblastic anemia. When you’re anemic, your body doesn’t have enough red blood cells to transport oxygen to your vital organs. This can cause symptoms like fatigue and weakness.

vitamin B12 levels are crucial to a healthy pregnancy.

Studies show that a fetus’s brain and nervous system require sufficient B12 levels from the mother to develop properly.

Vitamin B12 deficiency in the beginning stages of pregnancy may increase the risk of birth defects, such as neural tube defects. Furthermore, maternal vitamin B12 deficiency may contribute to premature birth or miscarriage

One study found that women with vitamin B12 levels lower than 250 mg/dL were three times more likely to give birth to a child with birth defects, compared to those with adequate levels

May Support Bone Health and Prevent Osteoporosis

Maintaining adequate vitamin B12 levels may support your bone health.

One study in more than 2,500 adults showed that people with a vitamin B12 deficiency also had lower than normal bone mineral density (5Trusted Source). Bones with decreased mineral density can become delicate and fragile over time, leading to an increased risk of osteoporosis. Other studies have also shown a link between low vitamin B12 levels and poor bone health and osteoporosis, especially in women.

May Improve Mood and Symptoms of Depression

Vitamin B12 may improve your mood.

The effect of vitamin B12 on mood is not yet fully understood. However, this vitamin plays a vital role in synthesizing and metabolizing serotonin, a chemical responsible for regulating mood. Therefore, vitamin B12 deficiency may lead to decreased serotonin production, which may cause a depressed mood.

Studies support the use of vitamin B12 supplements for improving symptoms of depression in people deficient in this vitamin.

One study in people with depression and low vitamin B12 levels found that those who received both antidepressants and vitamin B12 were more likely to show improved depressive symptoms, compared to those treated with antidepressants alone.Another study discovered that vitamin B12 deficiency was associated with twice the risk of severe depression.

May Give You an Energy Boost

Vitamin B12 supplements have long been touted as the go-to product for a surge of energy.

All B vitamins play an important role in your body’s energy production, though they don’t necessarily provide energy themselves.

Currently, there is no scientific evidence to suggest that vitamin B12 supplements can boost energy in those with sufficient levels of this vitamin (18Trusted Source). On the other hand, if you’re significantly deficient in vitamin B12, taking a supplement or increasing your intake will likely improve your energy level. In fact, one of the most common early signs of vitamin B12 deficiency is fatigue or lack of energy.

Supports Healthy Hair, Skin and Nails

Given vitamin B12’s role in cell production, adequate levels of this vitamin are needed to promote healthy hair, skin and nails. In fact, low vitamin B12 levels can cause various dermatologic symptoms, including hyperpigmentation, nail discoloration, hair changes, vitiligo (the loss of skin colour in patches) and angular stomatitis (inflamed and cracked mouth corners)

Supplementing with vitamin B12 has been shown to improve dermatologic symptoms in people with B12 deficiency. However, if you’re well-nourished and not deficient in this vitamin, taking a supplement is unlikely to improve your skin, nail strength or hair health.

Whats NEW at Eclipse School of Beauty & Aesthetics?

At Eclipse we are always determined to provide our students with the best and most knowledgeable courses. We are consistent with offering the latest trends and making sure we have the highest quality of training available.

We are excited to announce we have added a range of new courses these include, Carboxy therapy, Cryotherapy, Microslerotherapy, Celluersae, Bum filler, Bum Botox, PDO threads, Jalupro and Deso.

Carboxy Therapy

What is Carboxy Therapy?

Carboxy Therapy involves the injection of carbon dioxide gas into the skin. It can be performed on any area of the body and is ideally suited to the treatment of:

This treatment uses carbon dioxide for skin rejuvenation, hair loss and fat reduction. It has been used since 1932 and is becoming more and more popular within the industry due to its versatility.

Our bodies naturally produce carbon dioxide, however when injected directly to specific areas it can encourage increased flow of oxygen, improving circulation. The increased oxygen levels below scarred or darkened skin from Carboxy injections for the face and body can enhance blood circulation and new cell production, helping to improve the texture and brighten the skin on the treated areas.

All treatments are tailored to the specific person. Consultations are required to discuss treatment option

What is Cryotherapy?

An advanced freezing innovation that is a fast, effective, safe and new solution for removal of skin imperfections. Procedures typically last from 5 to 30 seconds, so your clients can be in and out of the clinic quickly.

Cryotherapy can treat

Cryotherapy can be distributed to just one area, or you can have a whole-body treatment. This treatment can be administered in many ways, including through ice packs, coolant sprays, ice baths, ice massage and administered into tissue.

You can get benefits from just one session of Cryotherapy, however, it is more effective when used regularly.

What is Microsclerotherapy?

Micro-sclerotherapy is the injection of a sterile chemical into blood vessels, using small needles, causing inflammation and irritation leading to scarring of the inner lining of the vessel. This then causes the vessel to shrink, collapse, harden or close up and eventually fade away which resolves the cosmetic problem. Several sessions may be required to obtain maximum results.

This treatment is used on thread veins on the legs or body, provided they are beneath the heart. Microsclerotherapy is one of the most effective and well-established treatments for spider veins or telangiectasia. It is extremely effective on spider veins on the legs, and involves the injection of a solution, or ‘sclerosant’, with a very fine needle into the problem blood vessel.

There is little to no recovery time with this treatment, patients don’t normally find the injections painful.

Before and four weeks following one treatment of Microslerotherapy.

What is Celluerase?

Celluerase is a revolutionary Industry to reduce the appearance of cellulite. Fibrous connective tissue pulls through the subcutaneous layer causing the ‘fat’ cells to push through and create an orange peel effect. Special blades are used under the skin to ‘cut’ the fibrils and releasing the pull thus minimizing the appearance of cellulite. This can be performed on the legs and buttocks.

This is a brand-new treatment In the UK and is gaining popularity at a vast rate. The results are INSTANT and once treated should not need to be treated again. Roughly 10 depressions can be treated at any one time. Local anaesthetic injections are used to ensure client comfort throughout. The treatment is performed, and the sterile dressings are applied. As this treatment is permanent, it is one of the most rewarding and satisfying for any client. Treatments can be charge from £199 per session proving to be a very lucrative treatment to offer.

Bum filler

What is Bum filler?

This treatment course will cover the complete remodelling of a person’s buttock area as well as contouring hip dips. Special contour filler, which comes in 10ml syringes is used with a 100mm canula to shape and volumize the buttocks. Lidocaine is injected prior to the filler to ensure client comfort.

Over recent years the number of breast augmentations have dropped by 20%, according to the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. Meanwhile, buttock enhancements have been rising by as much as 15% a year since 2013. As celebrities like Kim Kardashian promote a love for bigger bottoms, this obsession is not abating. This celebrity culture and the proliferation of pornography are behind this modern adulation of achieving a rounder, perkier bottom. Instagram is the biggest platform for this obsession with squats having over 16.3 million mentions and glutes with 4.6 million mentions.

Today’s ideal bottom is unnaturally bubble-shaped and as able to defy gravity, the perfect round shape that protrudes out from the lower back in a prominent ‘C’ Curve.

This sudden obsession with larger bottoms has led to a surge in cosmetic surgery, such as the Brazilian butt lift, where a woman’s own fat is removed from other parts of the body and injected back into the buttocks. There are also an option of implants, which are inserted under the skin to increase the size and shape of the bottom. Worryingly, however, is the number of women that died as a result of this invasive surgery. The rise of surgical horror stories in the press and on social media has led to women seeking less invasive treatments.

Bum Botox

What is Bum Botox?

Botox is best known for smoothing wrinkles on the face, but it can be used to give the bottom a gentle lift. The muscle-relaxing toxin is injected below the muscle to relax the “pull down” muscle allowing the “pull up” muscle to be more active!

PDO Threads

What is PDO Threads?

The face-lift alternative. Designed to improve loose skin and therefore enhance the contours of the face. A thin thread is inserted through the dermis layer of the skin to encourage collagen and elastin growth. The treatment is minimally invasive and can be performed within a clinic setting in under 30mins. This treatment can be carried out on all areas including cheeks, jowls, neck, decolletage, stomach, back, legs, bum and more. The threads give an instant lifting result but will also continue to work for up to several months.

PDO threads have been used safely for decades for various applications, treating gynaecological disorders or suturing incisions after medical procedures. They have recently become more popular for skin tightening and promoting collagen production.

PDO threads work together to give you enhanced skin texture, fewer fine lines, wrinkles and more elastic skin.

Jalupro Skin booster

We have added Jalurpo skin boosters to our Profhilo & Sunekos course

What is Jalupro?

Jalupro nourishes the skin from within and aids natural rejuvenation. It is a safe, sterilize injectable solution which acts as a skin collagen booster. This can be used to improve skin texture, softening fine lines and wrinkles. It is very similar to Suenkos product; Profhilo, Sunekos and Jalupro are all injectable skin boosters and provide a more natural and youthful appearance

What is Jalupro used for?

  • Anti-aging of a face and a body
  • Stretch marks
  • Dark circles under eyes
  • Preparation, improvement and prolongation of results for different aesthetic procedures e.g. Chemical peels, Dermal filler, Microdermabrasion, etc

Deso Fat Dissolving

What is Deso?

Set to be the next generation of fat dissolvers DESO face and DESO body training will be included in this training course. Similar to Aqualyx, DESO is thought to have much less swelling and is conveniently separated into face and body products. DESO can be used on many areas from head to toe including: double’ chin, the arms, abdomen, flanks, buttocks, inner knees, thighs and back or bra ‘rolls’. Several sessions may be needed but it is said to have a faster result time than similar products on the market. DESO face and DESO body are administered using a needle however DESO body can also be administered using canula which will be shown on the course.

In line with similar injectable treatments like Aqualyx, the active ingredient is Deoxycholic Acid, proven to reduce fat deposits for the right patients. The product is conveniently separated into a face and body concentration and side effects are minimal. In addition, DESO is known to result in much less swelling than Aqualyx.

Cant open your business?

Here’s what you can do to elevate your  business in the spare time

Work on your salon policies and procedures

It’s a really good time to finally regulate your salon policies and prepare a procedure manual. Salon policies are a set of rules that allow you to set boundaries concerning your customers’ behaviour, while salon procedures are a system of guidelines, thanks to which you and your staff know what to do in certain situations. Both of these help you to maintain a safe and organised environment, decrease the risk of accidents and boost your business’ performance.

When it comes to salon policies, well-written ones allow you to reduce

. no-shows

. late cancellations

. late arrivals

.control refunds

. eliminate the risk of being accused of professional negligence

. permit to refuse service.

It is all a matter of knowing the laws as well as being able to word and display the policies properly. Salon procedures, on the other hand, should cover areas such as health and safety, performance, discipline, rules of employment and work schedules. Without such regulations, you are not only prone to disorganisation, but you might even become a casualty to negative long-term effects.

With all the helpful materials provided by our team, you will be able to seamlessly create your own sets of policies and procedures, so when you start operating again, you will have much better control over your business’ performance.

Refresh your social media channels

It’s the perfect time to focus on some organisational matters, like taking care of your social media fan pages. It’s a perfect moment to analyse whether your social media presence is professional and appealing to your potential clients. Now you can check if all of the information provided on the page is valid and up to date, take your time to plan future posts and read more about Facebook algorithms to ensure your posts will be more successful.

Avoid these common mistakes!

Every salon or spa owner is guilty of a mistake here or there when creating their fan page, and these are some of the more prominent examples along with the effects they may have on your business:

. Grammatical errors – if a number of grammatical errors appear in the bio, descriptions or posts, your beauty business may come off as being less professional and of a lesser standard.

. A lack of important business information – no phone number, business address or description of services offered may deter potential clients from visiting.

.Poor quality images – this may give your treatments a low-quality appearance, since details such as highlights and multiple layers might not be captured in the picture.

.Posts not relating to the business – everyone loves a backstory to your salon or some information about you, but avoid having every other post or image be about your personal life, as potential clients are less likely to be interested in it.

.Very little activity – the most common deterrent for potential clients is finding a salon’s fan page, only to be faced with a handful of posts dating back to 2010. Users who are met with such pages often conclude that the staff do not provide any offers, events or the salon may even be out of business.

.No shared client reviews – as potential clients, we base our purchase decisions on the experiences others have had with a business – but if no reviews come up for a salon one is interested in, it is far more likely that you will decide to go to a more reputable salon.

.A lack of a booking option – a modern salon should cater to clients 24/7 with an online booking feature. This tool, when integrated into your networking page, allows clients to book with you whenever they please. If your business lacks this, clients will attempt to reach the business over the phone or via Messenger. When that fails, they look elsewhere.

Analyse your relationship with clients

You have an opportunity to sit down and think about one of the most important elements of running a successful beauty business – customer service.

A perfect salon visit doesn’t start and end with the service – now you have a moment to analyse ways in which you can boost sales by making the appointment even more appealing to your clients. You should also work on your communication processes – consistent and well-thought-out contact with customers is an integral part of maintaining an existing customer base and gaining new regulars. Finally, it’s just the moment to check your retention rates and reflect on lost customers, ways to gain them back and cases in which it’s better to wave them goodbye.

In this difficult time, it’s very important to stay strong and try to focus on the ways you can keep improving your beauty business, even though you cannot physically be there and “do your job”. We hope these steps can motive you.

Everything that You Need to Know About Micropigmentation

Micropigmentation has made it easier for both men and women to enhance the appearance of their lips, eyes, hairline, and more. It involves depositing pigment into the dermal layer of your skin. It is a smudge-free treatment, and it lasts for a long time and is suitable for those who are suffering from chemotherapy, hair loss, or alopecia, and other issues.

How is Micropigmentation Performed?
During the procedure, a small, thin needle is used along with a hypoallergenic mineral pigment deposited into the second layer of the skin. It lightly contours and enhances the shapes of the eyes, eyebrows, and lips. Besides, you can also go to microblading courses near me.

It is entirely different from getting cosmetic tattoos and is less invasive as well. The procedure goes on for at least 20 to 30 minutes. Although it is a painless procedure, some patients are given anesthesia to make the treatment comfortable.

What to Expect After the Procedure?
Initially, you might get swelling in the treated area, but it will become more comfortable when you apply ice to the area. It might also be possible that some patients experience tearing afterward, but it is common, so make sure that you consult the doctor to drive you through the procedure.

After the procedure is complete, the treated area is cleaned using an antiseptic. Experts advise you to avoid sunlight and products containing peroxide as they can negatively impact the entire procedure.

One thing that you might notice is the coloring, which might appear more intense over time, but it will gradually fade within a few weeks. You can also opt for training for eyelash extensions if you want to enhance the look.
In case you develop a rash or fever or are experiencing excessive swelling or burning in the area, you can contact your doctor immediately.

Who Can Go for Micropigmentation?
People who are allergic to traditional makeup or want to improve the appearance of their lips, eyebrows, or hairline can opt for micro-pigmentation.

Those people who have issues such as arthritis can also benefit from micropigmentation. This procedure can also be used for medical purposes, which treats scars, restore areola pigmentation, and correct cleft lips. It is also ideal for those who have undergone chemotherapy treatment.

Choosing a Specialist for Micropigmentation
It would be best if you found a highly trained specialist who has experience in the procedure to avoid unforeseen consequences.
You must consult a reputed doctor before you go for the treatment to discuss what your skin needs and its concerns. So, make sure that you feel comfortable and tell your expectations to the doctor to feel at ease during the procedure.

Maintaining Your Look
It depends on person to person. Some people might require two or more treatments to achieve the desired results, so make sure that you discuss the same with the doctors and the number of treatments that you will need during the consultation.

It might also happen the coloring fades gradually over time, and you might need additional treatments to maintain the look.

Everything You Need to Know About Dermaplaning

Like other cosmetic procedures, dermaplaning too comes with its set of advantages. It helps in removing the top layers of your skin, reduces the fine wrinkles, and provides deep acne scarring, thus leaving the skin surface smooth. Let’s shed light on the details of this treatment.

What is dermaplaning?

As told by experts at the kent beauty academy, Dermaplaning, also referred to as blading or microplaning uses an exfoliating blade to peel out dead skin cells and hairs from your face.

This particular skin treatment makes your skin’s surface look youthful, radiant, and smooth. Not only this, but it is also effective in removing deep scars left on your face due to acne and pockmarks on your skin. The treatment, taught at the Essex beauty training school, works well when it comes to removing short and soft hairs on your face.

Dermaplaning is suitable for any skin type or even when anyone has the following:

● Scars due to acne
● Dullness on the skin
● Dryness on the skin
● Damaged skin due to sun
● Fine wrinkles

How does it work?

The tool used for dermaplaning treatments looks like a razor that you use to remove your body hair.

dermaplaning treatment

Dermaplaning involves shaving. A sterile blade is used at a 45-degree angle and dragged slowly all over the skin to remove dead cells, scar tissue, and other debris that make your skin look uneven and dull.

Your skin often remains exposed to harsh environmental toxins, sun damage, and irritants. With time, these elements can damage your skin and make it look aged and dull. With dermaplaning, you can get away with the damaged skin cells so that you develop newer skin cells.

However, when it comes to the results, everyone has a different experience with this treatment.

What is the procedure?

Dermaplaning comes under semi-permanent makeup courses and is not a painful procedure; however, you might experience a tingling sensation in between.

You will be seated in a comfortable position, after which local anesthesia or numbing spray is given to sedate the skin. Along with this, you will also get general anesthesia in rare cases or an oral sedative.

After you are relaxed, an electronic or manual dermaplaning tool is used to scrape your skin at a 45-degree angle. The process will be carried out for 20-30 minutes, on average, to exfoliate the skin thoroughly.

Once the treatment is over, a substance such as an aloe gel is applied on your face along with sunscreen to protect your skin.

What to expect from dermaplaning treatment?

There is no need to worry about the downtime to recover from dermaplaning treatment. Experiencing redness or the feeling of getting your skin scraped is common right after two or three days of the procedure.

It might take a few days to see full results, but you will eventually notice that your skin will start looking brighter right after the treatment. As the redness subsides, you will see results more clearly.

After the treatment is over, you will need to be extra careful with the exposure to the sun. This is because continued exposure might result in pigmentation. Experts recommend that you wear sunscreen every time you step out.

Fat Dissolving Injections – Will They Work for Me?

Fat-dissolving injections have made a huge impact on the current aesthetics industry. The term ‘fat dissolving’ is greatly appealing to pretty much every human in the modern-day world. But what exactly is it and will it work for everyone? Many clients and therapists at beauty schools ask this question every day, hopefully, this blog will help answer and explain these queries.

How does it work?

Fat-dissolving injections work by emptying the fat cells within the hypodermis, otherwise known as the subcutaneous layer of the skin. However, not all fat is dissolved during this treatment as the injections will only affect the type of stubborn fat that we do not need to live. For example, the fat that is naturally occurring in the body and is there for protection is formulated differently to the extra fat that is deposited due to an excess, unbalanced diet. If we put on weight, it is generally distributed evenly around the body and no matter how big or small we become, our general shape will stay the same. Fat-dissolving injections should be targeted on stubborn areas of fat that would still be apparent if we lost all of our excess weight.

What areas can be treated?

  • Jawline
  • Jowls
  • Double chin
  • Bingo wings
  • Arms
  • Bra fat
  • Love handles
  • Flanks
  • Stomach (upper, lower or all)
  • Thighs (inner and outer)
  • Knees

Other areas can also be possible to treat if the therapist believes it will work in that specific area. The main way to tell this is by doing a pinch test. Many people believe they have pockets of fat however this may be more skin and or loose muscle. When testing a specific area, the therapist will feel around to see if the area is main area of stubborn fat cells. The most common misconception is the ‘double chin’ clients may come forward for the fat dissolving treatment, however, the therapist may find that this area is mainly loose skin. They would then need a skin tightening treatment to combat this desired area. The client may have a degree of loose skin and some stubborn fat in which case the client can have 2 separate treatments to combat both issues.

Ok, so we know how it works but what exactly is it?

The 2 main fat-dissolving products on the market are Aqualyx and Kobella. Generally, Kobella is only available in America so the most common one used in the UK is Aqualyx. Both are synthetic copy of the body’s gastric acid. It absorbs the fat within the fat cells which is then passed out through your kidneys naturally. Because of the way the body excretes this product, it is near on impossible to inject too much into any given area. Making this treatment extremely safe and effective. Should the product be injected too deep, say into the muscle, there will be a slight bump for 4-5 days, and then it will be absorbed into the body and excreted anyway?

How long will it take to see results?

Immediately following this treatment there will be swelling and bruising for up to 7 days. After this time, once the swelling has subsided you should see an improvement within the treated area. All clients should be advised to have 3-6 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart to see lasting effects. However, you cannot just be injected a few times, see results and then embark on an unhealthy lifestyle. This treatment need to be accompanied by healthy eating, light exercise, and plenty of fluid intake. The fat cells within the skin can and will quickly fill up again in your client falls into an unhealthy lifestyle. It can sometimes be described as going to the gym: To maintain results, you must first commit to getting to where you want to be physically and then maintenance must continue. Once you have had your course of fat dissolving injections and are living a healthy lifestyle, you can start to space your testaments our further and further. Some clients will get to the point where they have top-up injections 1 to 2 times a year.

Can I train in fat dissolving injections without any previous qualifications?
